RASC News Agency: Local sources from Kandahar province report that Taliban members recently brutally beaten an elderly woman along with her pregnant daughter-in-law at Nisai-Waladi Hospital in the province for not having a male escort. Sources informed the media on Sunday, May 12th, that this incident took place nearly a week ago, and after stoning them, the Taliban group compelled them to return home.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the pregnant woman, accompanied by her mother-in-law, visited the hospital for check-ups and faced violence from the Taliban group. Sources recount that the Taliban in Kandahar province subjects sick women to humiliation for lacking a male escort and sends them back home.

They further state, “Here, our voices go unheard, and we have no one to turn to.” Following their ascent to power, the Taliban enforced increasingly stringent measures on the lives and mobility of women and girls.

During their nearly three-year reign, the Taliban deprived women and girls of their most basic rights, particularly in education and employment.
