RASC News Agency: A former female soldier from the previous government, Husna, currently residing in the United States, has informed the media that the Taliban targeted and tracked down her family members in Afghanistan. In an interview with a foreign media outlet on Monday, Feb 19, the former soldier expressed that her struggle, along with that of her comrades, has prompted the Taliban to actively pursue and “hunt” her family.

She emphasized, “The fight for women’s rights has exposed my family to danger. My sole objective is to advocate for women’s rights in my homeland.” Furthermore, Husna added, “My family members cannot remain in one location for more than a few weeks; they are forced to escape from the Taliban.” This situation unfolds as the Taliban, following their takeover in Afghanistan, have subjected numerous former soldiers to detention, imprisonment, torture, disappearance, and, in some instances, fatalities.

It is crucial to note that post the Taliban’s assumption of control in Afghanistan, the exodus of former government soldiers to neighboring countries and beyond has surged, driven by apprehension of the Taliban.
