RASC News Agency: Local sources in Parwan province say the Taliban have arrested Neda Mohammad Nuri, a journalist working for the Taliban-run National Television in Parwan.VSources informed the media on Monday, May 6, that Nuri was arrested three days ago in Charikar city by the Taliban and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to the sources, Taliban intelligence forces covered the journalist’s head with a black bag during the arrest and took him away. The reason for the journalist’s arrest is still unclear, and local Taliban authorities in Parwan have not yet commented on the matter.

Since the Taliban regained control of the country, they have imposed strict restrictions on the media and journalists, including frequent arrests, imprisonment, and torture.

The Afghanistan Journalists Safety Committee reported that in the past year, 136 incidents of violations against media freedom and journalists were recorded, including 73 threats and 64 arrests of journalists by the Taliban.
