RASC News Agency: Recent reports from Kazakh media outlets reveal that Kazakhstan has allocated an impressive humanitarian aid package exceeding $472 million to Afghanistan this year, presently under the control of the Taliban group. This aid encompasses both food and non-food items, detailed in a comprehensive report by the Kazinform News Agency on December 25th.

While extending assistance to the people of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan has prioritized substantial aid to Afghanistan, recognizing the severe conditions prevailing under Taliban rule. This commitment builds upon Kazakhstan’s prior endeavors to provide emergency aid to the victims of the Herat earthquake, underscoring their enduring dedication to aiding the Afghanistani people.

Afghanistan’s heavy reliance on humanitarian aid stems from multiple crises affecting its economic and political landscapes, creating an extraordinary predicament. Antecedent to this, humanitarian organizations had consistently warned about dwindling funding and a mounting population in need of assistance within Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The situation is further compounded by the constrained activities of international aid organizations and the curtailment of women’s work and activities, contributing to a noteworthy upswing in poverty rates among households.

Consequently, the surge in poverty, unemployment, and overarching economic instability has driven a substantial number of Afghanistani citizens to seek refuge in neighboring countries. This mass migration is propelled by a confluence of factors, including the deteriorating economic conditions and the formidable challenges confronted by households in Afghanistan.
