RASC News Agency: Reports from local sources in Kabul province indicate that a cohort of young men has been apprehended in Kabul city by the Propagation of Virtue agents of the Taliban due to their sartorial choices and hairstyles. On Thursday, January 11th, media outlets received information from Kabul province sources, detailing the detention of these youths by the agents of the Taliban’s Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in the Dasht-e-Barchi area. The precise number of individuals detained by the Taliban agents remains undisclosed. Furthermore, the Taliban has recently imposed additional constraints on male students attending schools in Kabul.
According to reliable sources, the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of the Taliban has issued a directive to educational institutions. Commencing from the ensuing Saturday, female students are mandated to adhere to Islamic hijab regulations during their instructional sessions, while male students are expected to don trousers and shirts, maintaining their customary hairstyle. The enforcement of these restrictions is slated to commence in schools at the onset of the upcoming week, with Taliban agents actively monitoring individuals in both urban and rural locales.
It is imperative to note that notwithstanding these recent developments, Taliban agents have apprehended numerous women from areas such as Dasht-e-Barchi, Khair Khana, and other sectors of Kabul city in the past week. These apprehensions were grounded in allegations of non-compliance with hijab norms, resulting in the women being transported to security facilities and detention centers for further adjudication.
