Four Killed Due to Flash Floods in Herat and Ghor Provinces

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Herat and Ghor provinces confirm that flash floods in these regions have resulted in the deaths of four people. On Sunday, May 5, sources informed the media that flash floods from the previous evening claimed the lives of two individuals, including a child and a teenager, in Kashk-e-Kuhna district of Herat.

 

The victims have been identified as Zalmai and Farid, who were brothers. Meanwhile, sources from Ghor province report that an elderly man and a child lost their lives due to flash floods in Chaharsada district. Local Taliban authorities in Ghor have also confirmed the casualties caused by the floods. Residents of Murghab district in Ghor province report that the river’s course has been blocked for the past seven hours due to the flash floods. According to residents, over 20 villages are at risk of flooding.

 

A source from the Taliban informed the media that over 1,500 families are located in the flood-prone areas of Murghab district. Recently, several provinces have experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in flash floods that have caused loss of life and financial damage.

 

Earlier, local sources from Herat reported that three individuals, including a woman, died due to flash floods in the province.
