RASC News Agency: The inception of a bridge construction project in Laghman province is now underway, financed by the indigenous residents themselves, as disclosed by officials from the Taliban group. Qari Zainul Abidin Abid, the governor representing the Taliban group in Laghman province, declared during the inauguration of the bridge that it is anticipated to incur an expenditure of approximately 40 million Kabuli rupees, a sum to be collectively contributed by the local community and business magnates. Envisaged in the “Kanda” village of the Alingar district, the bridge will boast dimensions of 68 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width, serving to connect the Niazi and Alokozai clans, thereby alleviating transportation challenges for the local populace and families.
Despite prior instances where citizens assumed the responsibility for constructing infrastructure due to governmental negligence in the construction and infrastructure sectors, the denizens of this region express contentment with the development of this bridge. It is noteworthy that deficient transportation facilities in numerous provinces of the country have resulted in regrettable incidents and, even loss of lives. In various provinces, the Taliban’s constraints on relief organizations have left numerous development projects incomplete, prompting public demands for their expeditious completion.
In essence, the proactive stance adopted by the local residents and business figures to financially support the construction of the bridge in Laghman province underscores their resolve to confront the transportation challenges confronting the community. While instances abound of citizens independently spearheading infrastructure projects due to governmental neglect, it is imperative for authorities to prioritize and endorse such endeavors to guarantee the safety and well-being of the populace. The culmination of these developmental undertakings, including the bridge, stands as a prerequisite for the advancement and prosperity of the affected regions.
