Ahmad Massoud Warns of Potential Terrorist Attacks in the US and Europe

RASC News Agency: Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, warned that there is a possibility of terrorist attacks on American or European soil by extremist groups. The leader of the National Resistance Front issued a similar warning to the United States in his memoir, “By My Father’s Name: The Struggle for Afghanistan’s Freedom,” published today, Tuesday, April 30.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, he urged the United States to reassess its policy toward Afghanistan under Taliban rule. Massoud noted that there is currently an intense “competition” among terrorist groups comparable to what existed before the September 11 attacks. He added that the Afghanistani people have been left “hopeless” and abandoned to face the Taliban, which systematically violates their rights.

According to the report, the leader of the National Resistance Front warned that President Joe Biden should reconsider his policy toward Afghanistan under Taliban governance; failure to do so could have serious consequences. He cautioned that the risk of rising terrorism is growing due to the void created by the [Doha] peace agreement and the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Massoud added that the current global political landscape is largely advantageous to the Taliban, citing conflicts from the war in Ukraine to the Gaza conflict and other events occurring worldwide.
