RASC News Agency: Local sources in Kandahar province report that amid a spate of mysterious and targeted killings, unidentified gunmen recently shot and killed a man in the region. Sources informed the media on Tuesday, April 30, that the incident occurred the previous night at the “Popal Shah” market in the Spin Boldak district of the province.

The victim has been identified as Ata Muhammad, who, according to sources, was a freight truck driver. The reason for the murder remains unclear, as the gunmen’s motives have not yet been determined. The Taliban-led police command in Kandahar confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation into the murder has begun.

Since the Taliban regained control of the country, crime rates, particularly mysterious and targeted killings, have risen significantly across various parts of Afghanistan. In another incident on October 29 of last year, an individual was also killed by unidentified gunmen in Kandahar province.
