RASC News Agency: Sources report that Abdul Jamil Zadran, a former Afghan army commando commander, has died from fatal torture inflicted by the Taliban in prison. On Monday, April 29, sources close to Abdul Jamil confirmed to the media that the Taliban detained Commander Zadran from his home three months ago and took him into custody.

The source added that the former Afghanistan commando commander was released from Taliban custody after three months in critical health condition. He died four days after his release due to injuries sustained from Taliban torture. During the previous Afghanistan government, Mr. Zadran served as the commander of the “Zamari” Brigade in Kandahar province and the commander of the third commando battalion.

Two days ago, another former soldier, Ahmad Fawad, died in Parwan province following his arrest and subsequent fatal torture by the Taliban. Although Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the elusive leader of the Taliban, announced a general amnesty after the group’s takeover of the country, its fighters have repeatedly detained, tortured, and killed former military personnel.
