According to a statement issued by the Taliban police command in Balkh, the young man was identified as Shirzi, 23 years old, who worked as a taxi driver in Mazar-i-Sharif.

The statement noted that Shirzi was originally from Parwan and went missing on Thursday, March 30th, from the Zulfiqar Square area of Mazar-i-Sharif. His body was found on Friday, Apr 19, in the Pul-e-Imam Bakri area of Dehdadi district. According to the Taliban police statement in Balkh province, Shirzi was tortured and brutally murdered.
