RASC News Agency: In a recent proclamation, Zhao Xing, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul, disclosed that China has earmarked ¥100 million as emergency humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan. This substantial contribution aligns with the persistent endeavors to offer assistance to those in dire need. Zhao Xing expressed his optimism that these aids would effectively address the multifaceted challenges confronted by the people of Afghanistan.
In a statement posted on the X social media platform, the Chinese ambassador underscored his meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban group. The deliberations during this encounter were centered on augmenting bilateral cooperation between China and Afghanistan. This attests to China’s unwavering commitment to engaging with diverse stakeholders in the nation, fostering positive relations, and contributing to its comprehensive development.
Furthermore, Zhao Xing alluded to his discussions with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s special representative and ambassador to Afghanistan. The two sides participated in a constructive dialogue concerning the prevailing situation in Afghanistan under the governance of the Taliban. It is noteworthy that China’s association with the Taliban has been subject to meticulous scrutiny, particularly in the context of resource extraction contracts. However, the official recognition of the Taliban group by any nation hinges on the group’s adherence to human rights, encompassing the rights of women, girls, and minorities, as well as the establishment of an inclusive government.
