RASC News Agency: Continuing their imposition of restrictions on girls’ education, the Taliban recently warned educational institutions that enrolling girls beyond the sixth grade constitutes a crime, with offenders facing criminal repercussions. According to information disclosed to the media on Thursday, April 17th, the Taliban, alongside dispatching pledges to educational establishments, has mandated that officials of educational institutions refrain from admitting girls beyond the sixth grade under any circumstances, and female instructors for girls below the sixth grade must be women.

The Taliban’s pledge asserts that disregarding the group’s orders and directives amounts to a criminal offense. Throughout their nearly three-year reign over the country, the Taliban has enforced stringent constraints on Afghanistani girls’ education, even shuttering university access to them.Previously, Sara Baharaki, the UN Youth Ambassador and a representative of a charitable organization, revealed that over two million girls have been deprived of schooling by the Taliban during their more than two years in power.

The UN Youth Ambassador observed, “While education plays a critical role in alleviating poverty, conflict, and regional crises, over two million girls in Afghanistan have been denied school access, with millions more in Ukraine, Palestine, and Sudan facing uncertainty.”
