RASC News Agency: Officials in Pakistan have informed the media that the second phase of expelling Afghan refugees from Pakistan began on April 15, with one million individuals being expelled from the country voluntarily and involuntarily. Rauf Khan, the spokesperson for the Pakistan Ministry of Interior, stated today, Wednesday, Apr 17, to the media, “All arrangements for repatriation have been finalized, including the return of volunteers and the expulsion of undocumented refugees.”
The Express Tribune reports that expectations for the second phase of expelling Afghanistani refugees include the expulsion of nearly one million refugees, including ACC cardholders, from the country. Meanwhile, Taliban authorities in the Ministry of Migrants and Repatriates stated that two days ago, ten families, totaling 53 individuals, entered Afghanistan via Torkham.
According to reports from the foundation, in the past year, during the first phase of the refugee expulsion process, nearly one and a half million Afghanistani refugees were expelled from Pakistan. However, international aid agencies have warned of a humanitarian crisis resulting from the mass expulsion of refugees from Pakistan.
Manizhe Kakar, a lawyer representing some detained migrants in Karachi and a migration activist, wrote on the social media platform X that the police in this country have given Afghanistani refugees holding residence cards until 8 a.m. on April 16 to leave the Pashin area in northern Kuwait.
It is worth noting that on Tuesday, Pakistan prevented Afghanistani patients from entering without visas and passports. Earlier, the two countries had agreed that patients and truck drivers could temporarily use transit documents to cross the border.
