Hassam: Resistance Embodies a Prophetic Duty and Divine Mission

RASC News Agency: Habibullah Hassam, one of Afghanistan’s prominent scholars, addressed the people in his sermon during the Eid al-Fitr prayers, asserting, “In the face of injustice and atrocities in Afghanistan, resistance becomes imperative for all of us, and we must resist to achieve social justice.” Today, on Wednesday, Apr 10, Hassam stated in a video released that resistance against oppression and injustice is a prophetic and divine duty.

Mr. Hassam, in his speech, referencing the history of Islam and the actions of the prophets, stated, “The oppressor is a devourer; he feeds on blood, robs you of your honor, and plunders your wealth and belongings.”

Habibullah Hassam added that Allah has endowed each individual with unique qualities, such as possessing wealth, maintaining good relationships, possessing knowledge, and more. However, it is crucial to know where to apply these qualities. He emphasized the importance of being centered on resistance, a focal point that elevates one to greatness and transforms them into a powerful force.

He further asserted that the call for national resistance in Afghanistan is a call for justice, the rejection of oppression, the elimination of discrimination, and the overthrow of the oppressive regime, which is, in fact, the call of all the prophets of God.

Mr. Hassam highlighted that injustice and tyranny have escalated in the country, especially against non-Pashtun ethnic groups. He stated, “The great Prophet came and overthrew oppression, saving a nation from slavery,” just as our country is dominated by a regime that perpetrates tyranny under the guise of religion, oppressing everyone and detaining, torturing, and killing innocent individuals like Pharaoh.

Previously, Mawlavi Abdul Shokor, a religious scholar from Badakhshan province, had vehemently criticized the Taliban’s sectarianism, stating that this system does not belong to the people; instead, it is controlled by a few illiterate leaders who oppress the people, commit atrocities against the residents of the provinces, detain and torture young people. He emphasized that this system is a self-serving and lawless group that does not believe in any divine or human law.
