RASC News Agency: Credible sources have reported that unidentified gunmen assassinated the deputy commander of the Taliban’s security apparatus responsible for Shibar district in Bamyan province. Sources informed the media on Monday, Apr 8, that Abdul Wahid, the deputy commander of the Taliban’s security forces in Shibar district, Bamyan province, was killed on the Saturday evening of the previous week.

According to sources, this Taliban commander was ambushed by unknown gunmen while returning home in Baghlan and subsequently killed. Sources indicate that this Taliban member, a significant figure in the Tala wa Barfak district of Baghlan province, had been implicated in numerous massacres and atrocities following the group’s assumption of power.

Additionally, sources mentioned that some time ago, Hayatullah Khindan, a notable figure from Bamyan belonging to the Hazara ethnic group, was also murdered by Abdul Wahid. While reports highlight the widespread presence and activities of anti-Taliban factions in northern provinces, particularly in Baghlan, the perpetrators behind the assassination of this Taliban commander remain unclear.

Reports suggest significant internal discord within Taliban ranks, with the motive behind these high-profile assassinations believed to stem from internal rifts.
