RASC News Agency: Two men and one woman were whipped in Faryab province by the Taliban’s Supreme Court, which sentenced them on charges of “adultery” and fleeing from “home.” In a statement released yesterday, Mar 31, the Taliban’s Supreme Court stated that they had been lashed based on the rulings of the city’s primary court and the primary court of Dolatabad district in Faryab.

This court sentenced one man and one woman to 30 lashes and one year of imprisonment for the charges of fleeing from home and adultery. Furthermore, today, Apr 1, the Taliban’s Supreme Court lashed six individuals in Khost province on charges of “deception in public.” The Taliban group has brought punishment to the forefront of public attention with their control over the country.

This group has also publicly executed six individuals so far. While human rights organizations criticize the Taliban’s desert courts, labeling them as violations of human dignity, they urge the group to put an end to this practice.

Meanwhile, Hebatullah Akhundzada, the clandestine leader of this group, emphasized in an audio tape that the group will continue public punishments of accused individuals, including whipping and stoning women.
