Abdul Basir Zabuli, the spokesman for the Taliban command in Nangarhar province, added that after Iftar, the man killed his wife, daughter, and son with an AK-47 rifle in the “Azimabad” area. Meanwhile, relatives of this family have stated that the man was addicted to drugs and had previously threatened this family with death.
Taliban security officials in Nangarhar province have not commented on the reason for this incident. This incident has also received extensive coverage on social media, with people urging the Taliban group to give the man the harshest punishment. It is worth noting that domestic violence has increased in Nangarhar province recently, attributed to unemployment, poverty, and mental illnesses among the people.
With the arrival of the Taliban group in the country, poverty and unemployment have peaked, with thousands of soldiers and government employees of the previous regime becoming displaced, migrants, and suffering from mental health issues. The Taliban had previously announced the collection of weapons throughout the country, claiming that only members of the group possess firearms.
