On this Friday, Mar 22, media reports indicate that sources from Panjshir Province have revealed that Taliban intelligence apprehended these two individuals from the Panjshir center on Wednesday, Mar 20.
Additional sources have disclosed that these two individuals, one identified as Saber, a former military officer and a soldier under the command of Panjshir’s security administration, and the other as Abdul Rahman, a civilian resident of Panjshir, were detained in the province’s center. Local sources have mentioned that Saber, a resident of “Foroubul” village, had become a recluse following the fall of the republic and Taliban’s seizure of power, and was not involved in any military operations.
Similarly, Abdul Rahman, the principal resident of “Dasht-e-Raiwat” village, which is part of the first district of Panjshir, was apprehended by Taliban intelligence upon his arrival in the province’s center for his daily tasks. Meanwhile, it remains unclear on what grounds these two individuals were detained by Taliban intelligence.
It is reported that with the expansion of targeted operations by the National Resistance Front in the country, the Taliban have resorted to detaining residents of Panjshir in Kabul and this province.
