RASC News Agency: The head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said that the policies of the Taliban group, which deprive girls and women, are unacceptable to the international community.
Roza Otunbayeva, the head of the UN Deputy Mission in Afghanistan, presented a report on the situation in Afghanistan in the Security Council of this organization on Tuesday, September 26.
She said that talking to the Taliban group does not mean recognizing this group.
According to this UN official, these talks show how much the UN is trying to change the policy of the Taliban group.
She noted that Afghanistan has been in conflict and war for half a century and Afghanistani people, especially girls, should be able to live in a peaceful society.
Otunbayeva has added that the interaction of the international community with the Taliban group should be mediated by Islamic countries.
The head of the United Nations Deputy Delegation in Afghanistan has emphasized that the Taliban group cannot have international legitimacy without internal legitimacy.
The “explanatory” meeting of the United Nations Security Council is currently being held.
With the dominance of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, international institutions and countries of the world have always expressed concern about the violation of human rights in the country by this group.
At the same time, the executive director of the United Nations Women’s Department, Sima Bahus, has asked the world to use all means to put pressure on the Taliban group at today’s Security Council meeting.
She criticized the international community for not listening to the voices of Afghanistanni women under the rule of the Taliban.
Bahus said: “We sometimes ignore the voices of Afghanistani women, and this neglect also has negative effects on the future of Afghanistan” .
