RASC News Agency: According to reports from U.S. intelligence agencies, the prospect of robust resistance against the Taliban group appears dim. This is attributed to the lack of “strong leadership” and external support among the armed forces opposing the Taliban. As per the annual assessment report on threats to U.S. national security released on Monday, Mar 11, “many Afghanistanis are weary of the Taliban’s warfare and pursuit of vengeance.”
The report highlights the Taliban’s consolidation of power in Afghanistan, suppression of adversaries, and expanded engagement with the global community. However, despite these advancements, the Taliban have failed to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis and economic vulnerabilities in Afghanistan under their governance.
Statements from U.S. intelligence agencies indicate that the Taliban persist in implementing restrictive measures and policies, such as prohibiting girls’ education, imposing public punishments, and quelling protests.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the Taliban’s seizure of power, at least two anti-Taliban military fronts have launched operations against Taliban positions and members across different regions of the country.
These anti-Taliban fronts include the Freedom Front and the National Resistance Front, which sporadically report carrying out covert operations against Taliban forces in various provinces, particularly in the northern areas of the country.
