RASC News Agency: Ata Mohammad Noor, the leader of the Islamic Unity Party, responding to the fourth anniversary of the Doha Agreement’s signing, asserted that the accord had paved the way for the resurgence of the Taliban group and the collapse of the Islamic Republic system.

Mr. Noor addressed this matter on Thursday, February 29th, through a social media post, adding, “This agreement, spearheaded by Zalmay Khalilzad, can be deemed one of the principal factors contributing to the current situation in Afghanistan.” Ata Mohammad Noor further indicated that Tom West, the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, is also endeavoring to “whitewash” the Taliban’s actions by replicating Khalilzad’s errors.

This member of the National Resistance Council also stressed that Afghanistan succumbed to the Taliban, and the republican system crumbled following the Doha Agreement and flawed consultations and evaluations. Nevertheless, Mr. Noor expressed optimism, stating, “The situation post-collapse and its factors are evident, and we will undoubtedly navigate through this scenario to discover a brighter future.”

Today, February 29th, commemorates the fourth anniversary of the Doha Agreement, signed in 2019 between Zalmay Khalilzad and Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
