OCHA Reports Britain's Contribution of One Million Pounds to Afghanistan

RASC News Agency: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that Britain has provided one million pounds in aid to Afghanistan under Taliban control. OCHA revealed this on Thursday, February 29th, through a message on social media, expressing gratitude for Britain’s assistance.

According to OCHA, this amount of money has been allocated to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund, while Britain had previously contributed over $36 million to Afghanistan. This aid comes at a critical time for Afghanistan under Taliban rule, as the humanitarian situation in the country has deteriorated significantly since the group’s takeover.

It is worth noting that nearly half of Afghanistan’s population is in need of humanitarian assistance this year under Taliban rule. Following the Taliban’s control of the country, women’s employment in both governmental and non-governmental sectors has been restricted, leading many individuals to lose their jobs, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
