RASC News Agency: According to sources in Panjshir province, the Taliban group aims to establish settlements for migrants on private lands belonging to residents in the Anaba district of the province. Sources disclosed to the media on Monday, Feb 26, that these lands are located in the village of Onaba, amidst the residences of local inhabitants and the rugged mountainous terrain, presently serving as pasture lands.

The sources asserted that the Taliban’s Land Seizure and Land Stabilization Commission declared these lands as confiscated five months ago. However, the sources elaborated that these lands were allocated to local residents four years ago, with each family paying two thousand kabuli rupees for surveying and administrative purposes.

Residents of Onaba village in Panjshir province contend that the establishment of migrant settlements is a pretext for population displacement in the region. This unfolds as the Taliban group, subsequent to assuming control of the nation, has engaged in markedly violent and oppressive conduct towards Panjshir province’s inhabitants.

It is noteworthy that previously, the Taliban’s Land Seizure and Land Stabilization Commission had announced the confiscation of lands in multiple provinces, fueling resentment among affected residents.
