RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan National Association of Jurists has recently issued a call, asserting that the global community, particularly the United Nations, must heed Afghanistan’s silent majority. According to a statement released by the Afghanistan National Association of Jurists on Sunday, February 11th, the Taliban’s disregard for the demands of the people and national will carries “catastrophic consequences” for the country.

The association contends that during the two years of Taliban rule, there has never been a serious commitment by the international community to uphold Afghanistan’s fundamental law or the Taliban’s commitment to the United Nations Charter with full moral obligation towards Afghanistan and its people. The association adds that the global community has consistently spoken about the comprehensive government, echoing the “corporate governance and crypto-cracy of recent decades” in the minds of the people.

The Afghanistan National Association of Jurists raises this issue at a time when, after more than two years of Taliban rule, the group has failed to heed the demands of the country’s citizens and the global community regarding the reopening of schools and universities to girls. The global community has repeatedly emphasized the importance of human rights compliance and the formation of an inclusive government by the Taliban in Afghanistan. However, despite human rights organizations considering the Taliban as widespread violators of human rights, the group has consistently claimed to respect human rights and maintain an inclusive government.
