RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab province have reported that unidentified gunmen have murdered a 60-year-old man in the Khwaja Sabzposh district of the province. Sources informed the media on Thursday, Feb 8, that the incident took place on Tuesday of the current week in Morchahghal village of the Khwaja Sabzposh district.

According to the sources, the victim, named Abdulaziz, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen while traveling from Morchahghal village to Qarah Sheikhli village, armed with a Kalashnikov rifle. The motive and cause behind Abdulaziz’s murder remain unclear, and the local Taliban authorities in Faryab province have yet to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, criminal incidents, particularly mysterious and targeted killings, armed robberies, and thefts, have seen an uptick in some provinces of the country.

In a previous incident, unknown individuals murdered two men and two women in the Karteh Khurasan area of the seventh district of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the capital of Balkh province. Despite the Taliban’s control over the country, claiming overall security, reports of increased criminal activities and a lack of follow-up on these incidents are circulating.
