RASC News Agency: Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, articulated in his latest statements that his country urges the Taliban group to take necessary measures to garner international legitimacy. Miller made these remarks on Thursday, Feb 1, during a press briefing, emphasizing that the United States has requested the Taliban group to cease suppressing the legitimate demands of the Afghanistani people.

Regarding the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s session concerning the conditions of former allies in Afghanistan, Miller expressed reluctance to delve into the specifics of the meeting. The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State affirmed the ongoing efforts to expedite the process of evacuating their former Afghanistani collaborators.

It is noteworthy that on Wednesday, Jan 31, a roundtable discussion was convened by the House Foreign Affairs Committee, attended by eight individuals, including former American military personnel in Afghanistan and Sanger Soheil, an Afghanistani journalist, to examine the massacre and torture perpetrated against Afghanistan security forces and former American allies. Brian Mast, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives present at the roundtable, expressed concerns about the precarious situation faced by their Afghanistani collaborators under Taliban rule, emphasizing the perilous days they endure.

It is worth mentioning that despite the Taliban’s declaration of amnesty by their leader, the group has detained, tortured, and, in some instances, killed former military personnel and individuals who collaborated with international forces since seizing control of the country.
