Pakistan Warns Taliban: “Do Not Test Our Patience”

RASC News Agency: Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson issued a stern warning to the Taliban, emphasizing that Pakistan’s repeated requests for action against terrorist groups must be taken seriously. During a press briefing, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch cautioned the Taliban to heed Pakistan’s appeals for decisive measures against militant groups, including Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), adding that Pakistan’s patience should not be tested.

“The Taliban government has an obligation to act against these terrorist groups,” Baloch stated, urging Afghanistani authorities to recognize the gravity of Pakistan’s concerns. She highlighted that anti-Pakistan militants, including TTP, are allegedly finding refuge in Afghanistan with the support of the Afghanistani Taliban. These claims align with recent UN reports that confirm TTP’s presence in Afghanistan. Addressing a question regarding the Taliban’s relationship with TTP, Baloch declared, “Support for terrorist groups whether by individuals or official entities is unacceptable to Pakistan. The patience of the Pakistani people should not be tested. We urge Afghanistani authorities to take our repeated requests seriously and undertake immediate and effective action against these terrorist organizations.”

Pakistan has repeatedly asserted that instability in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has escalated since the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan. The country accuses the Taliban of providing safe harbor to Pakistan’s adversaries, particularly the TTP. The Taliban, however, has consistently denied these claims, dismissing Pakistan’s issues with TTP as internal matters specific to Pakistan.
