RASC News Agency: The United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Afghanistan has recently announced its plans to implement educational programs focused on raising awareness about the hazards of explosive ammunition within the country. On Tuesday, January 30th, UNICEF shared this crucial message on the X social media platform. These educational programs aim to educate approximately 3.6 million individuals, including children, about the risks associated with explosive ammunition.
UNICEF emphasized that Afghanistan is recognized as one of the most heavily contaminated countries globally concerning explosives. By providing education on the dangers of explosive ordnance, UNICEF believes individuals will acquire the knowledge necessary to prevent injuries and fatalities caused by explosive remnants. Despite Afghanistan’s lands being plagued by mines and ammunition left from years of war and conflict, resulting in occasional casualties and injuries, UNICEF remains committed to addressing this issue.
It is noteworthy that UNICEF has previously established educational institutions across various sectors to cater to Afghanistani children and students who lack access to education. By launching these educational programs on explosive ammunition, UNICEF continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving the lives and well-being of the Afghanistan population, particularly the younger generation.
