RASC News Agency: The Union of Human Rights Activists, a prominent human rights organization, has responded to the alarming detention of girls by the Taliban group and the recent report by UNAMA. In a statement released on Tuesday, January 23rd, the organization highlighted that these detentions are specifically targeted towards certain tribes and provinces. Their internal documents provide evidence that the Taliban group has been engaging in hostage-taking, kidnapping, and abduction of girls, with a clear concentration in particular regions and ethnic groups.
The Union of Human Rights Activists condemned these actions, labeling them as “racial discrimination” in their official statement. They have called upon the “Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination” to prioritize addressing the crimes committed by the Taliban group.
The organization emphasized that the cultural principles of the indigenous people hold women in high regard, with a special level of respect and honor. The audacity and disrespect displayed by the Taliban group towards the people is unprecedented and goes against the deeply rooted values of the indigenous culture.
Furthermore, the Union of Human Rights Activists highlighted the abduction of women and girls as a clear indication of the Taliban group’s detachment from the local population. They firmly stated that the disrespect shown towards women is unequivocally rejected by society.
The organization has also urged the European Human Rights Database to prioritize documenting and addressing the Taliban group’s actions concerning the arrest of women. By shedding light on these grave violations, the Union of Human Rights Activists aims to bring attention to the urgent need for action and justice in this matter.
