RASC News Agency: In Nangarhar province, Hidayatullah Sedaqat, the ousted official of the Taliban group responsible for overseeing the technical services and municipal sector in Jalalabad, has been removed from his position amid allegations of “financial and administrative corruption.” Media reports emerging from Nangarhar province on Monday, January 8, reveal that a Taliban delegation dispatched from Kabul has taken decisive action against Hidayatullah Sedaqat, relieving him of his duties and explicitly citing financial and administrative corruption.
Hidayatullah Sedaqat assumed the role of head of the technical services and municipal sector in Jalalabad several months ago under the Taliban’s appointment. However, the group has maintained silence on this specific incident, choosing not to issue a statement or comment. This development unfolds against a backdrop where Taliban officials have confronted previous accusations of administrative, financial, and ethical corruption across diverse provinces. Notably, the recent arrest of the mayor of the Taliban group in Faryab on charges of financial corruption underscores the ongoing challenges within the organization.
The dismissal of Hidayatullah Sedaqat, grounded in allegations of financial and administrative corruption, becomes public knowledge as the group’s leaders persistently rebuff claims of corruption within the institutions under their purview. The Taliban leadership consistently asserts the absence of corruption in the administrations they oversee, despite mounting evidence suggesting the contrary.
It is worth highlighting that, according to reports, the former head of the Taliban group, ousted from his position at Balkh University, faced repercussions due to an inappropriate phone call to a woman. In response, the Taliban strategically replaced him with a military commander to assume the role of the new head of Balkh University.
