RASC News Agency: Quoting local sources in Nangarhar province, unidentified individuals carried out an assault on a residence within the province, using a hand grenade. This resulted in the loss of four children and the injury of a woman. Sources from Nangarhar province conveyed to the media on Monday, January 8, revealing that this incident took place last night in the village of “Meya Sahib” in the Hesarak district of the province, at the home of a Taliban official.
According to these sources, unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade into the residence of Gulam Jelani Hanafi, the head of education for the Taliban group in this district. Consequently, four daughters of Hanafi, ranging in age from six to eight years old, lost their lives, and his wife sustained injuries. Sources also mention that the Taliban’s education officer in the Hesarak district emerged unharmed. However, the precise motive behind this attack remains unclear, as reported by accounts from Nangarhar province.
Taliban security officials in Nangarhar province have refrained from commenting on this incident so far. To date, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for this attack. This occurs during a period when the incidence of criminal activities in various provinces of the country has seen a significant rise, primarily due to the absence of organized judicial and legal institutions to address such incidents.
According to the convictions of certain citizens, members of the Taliban themselves are implicated in some of these incidents, participating in retaliatory and violent actions across various provinces, thus contributing to such occurrences.
