RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations under the Taliban has announced that, subsequent to the expulsion of Afghanistani migrants from neighboring countries, more than a thousand Afghanistani migrants have recently been deported from Iran and repatriated to the country. According to a statement issued by this ministry on Thursday, Mar 14, a total of 1,740 Afghanistani migrants were repatriated yesterday.
The ministry’s statement noted that these migrants were repatriated through the Islam Qala border in Herat province after being expelled from Iran. As per the ministry’s statement, the repatriated migrants include both families and individuals who returned to the country voluntarily or under duress.
This development comes amidst a significant exodus of citizens to neighboring nations, such as Pakistan and Iran, following the Taliban’s assumption of power, leaving them vulnerable to potential forced deportations from these countries.
Furthermore, Pakistan has also commenced the process of forcibly deporting undocumented Afghanistani migrants since November 1st of the previous year, resulting in the expulsion of thousands of individuals thus far, with the process ongoing.
