RASC News Agency: Turkish police forces have recently announced the arrest of 24 Afghanistani refugees who were attempting to enter the country. The arrest took place in the “Igdir” region, as reported by the Turkish media on Saturday, January 6th. These individuals were apprehended by the police forces when they were crossing the border from Iran in a car. It is worth noting that this is not an isolated incident, as the Turkish police have been actively arresting and deporting Afghanistani refugees who try to enter the country illegally.
In addition to the arrest of the 24 Afghanistani refugees, the Turkish police forces have also detained two individuals involved in human trafficking. This highlights the ongoing efforts of the Turkish authorities to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking. The police command of “Arike” confirmed the news and stated that their team intercepted the individuals who were attempting to enter Turkey from Iran. The two individuals accused of human trafficking were also apprehended.
Over the past few years, there has been a significant influx of Afghanistani citizens into Turkey, as many of them see it as a gateway to European countries. However, the Turkish police forces have been vigilant in identifying and arresting these individuals who enter the country illegally. Earlier reports indicated that the Turkish police had already arrested 85 asylum seekers without legal documents, with the majority being Afghanistani citizens. This ongoing issue highlights the challenges faced by Afghanistani refugees seeking a better life in Europe.
