RASC News Agency: Amidst internal strife within the Taliban group, credible sources in Badakhshan substantiate that the Taliban is undertaking the disarmament of its commanders in this province. Reports from sources on Thursday, January 4, indicate that Mohammad Ayoub Khalid, the Taliban’s governor for Badakhshan, issued this directive due to tensions with Fasihuddin Fetrat, the head of the group’s military command. The dispute centers on interference in administrative matters and provincial decision-making.

It is purported that during a security meeting held today at his office, Mohammad Ayoub directed the intelligence chief, the security commander, and the commander of the “Omar III Brigade” in the province to earnestly commence the implementation of the comprehensive collection and disarmament of Taliban members in Badakhshan. This aligns with the orders of Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban group. Sources further elaborate that the Taliban’s provincial governor has concurrently issued written instructions to all districts in the province, instructing them to take robust action against individuals who defy this decree.

This development unfolds against the backdrop of previous instances where members of the Taliban group grappled with internal conflicts and sporadic skirmishes. It is of note that the Taliban has refrained from publicly disclosing its internal disputes and actively inhibits their widespread coverage in the media.
