RASC News Agency: Due to the detention of several girls in western Kabul, sources have confirmed to the media that the Taliban compelled the families of these girls to stage protests and chant slogans in support of the group’s mandated dress code. As of Thursday, January 4, information received by the media indicates that the Taliban conveyed to the families of these girls that the condition for their release involves participating in demonstrations and expressing support for the prescribed dress code of the group.
Images circulated in the media portray men and children in the Barchi district rallying with slogans such as an invitation to a beautiful life, the preservation of hijab, and the proper coverage as necessities of the Islamic faith, advocating adherence to the tenets of God’s religion. In these images, several women are also seen standing alongside men, adorned in black veils, and chanting slogans in support of the mandated dress code. Sources reveal that when these families approached the 13th district for the release of their daughters, Taliban officials demanded that they march in support of the group’s prescribed dress code.
This incident unfolded as, in the past three days, Taliban forces forcefully entered Barchi in Kabul, coercively transferring girls who did not comply with the group’s dress code to unknown locations through armed brutality. It is noteworthy that this action by the Taliban has triggered widespread reactions, prompting UNAMA to recently implore the group to cease its arbitrary detentions. It is worth mentioning that during their two-year rule in Afghanistan, the Taliban have consistently detained, tortured, imprisoned, and, in some cases, even fatally harmed girls and women under various pretexts.
