Recent Floods Devastate Water Supply Networks in Afghanistan

RASC News Agency: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that recent floods in Afghanistan have destroyed many of the country’s water supply networks. In a message posted on the social media platform X on Sunday, May 26th, UNICEF reported that it is providing daily water supplies to 22,000 people affected by the floods.

According to UNICEF, each individual receives 15 liters of water per day. UNICEF added that families in flood-affected areas urgently need water for drinking, cooking, and bathing.

In May of this year, the United Nations warned that 79 percent of families in Afghanistan lack access to drinking water. The United Nations has declared Afghanistan one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change.
