RASC News Agency: In the midst of a surge in instances of moral transgressions within the Taliban’s ranks across diverse provinces, local sources have brought to light the detention of a judge from Samangan province due to his involvement in extramarital relations. Disclosed to the media on Wednesday, December 20th, these sources identified the apprehended judge as Mullah Aminullah Saqeb, who had been actively serving as the Chief Justice of the Taliban’s judiciary in Samangan province. Reports indicate that Taliban intelligence forces in Samangan arrested Mullah Saqeb last week, initially imprisoning him in Samangan, only to transfer him to Kabul two days ago.

Elaborating on the matter, sources reveal that the Taliban’s intelligence forces detained the Chief Justice of the Taliban’s judiciary in Samangan on charges of engaging in an “illicit” relationship with a recently released female prisoner from their own group, caught “during intercourse.” Allegedly, this woman had been released from prison, implicating Mullah Aminullah in extramarital relations, and it is reported that this Taliban official was apprehended at the residence of the recently freed woman.

As of now, the Taliban in Samangan has refrained from commenting on this incident. According to reports, authorities of the Taliban in various provinces have previously experienced detention on charges of moral corruption, encompassing adultery and homosexuality, only to be released by the group after a certain period. In a recent occurrence, the governor of the Taliban for Bamyan province was also arrested on charges of adultery and subsequently released by the group.

This unfolds despite the Taliban’s reiterated claims to combat moral corruption in the country since their assumption of power. However, reports suggest that members of this group in various provinces engage in comparable acts.
