RASC News Agency: Confirmed by reliable sources, Neda Parwani, a member of the “Spontaneous Movement of Afghanistan Women Protesters,” has been released from prison alongside her husband and young daughter. This development follows persistent calls from global authorities for the liberation of female protesters detained by the Taliban group. However, reports indicate that Neda Parwani’s mental health has been gravely impacted by the torments endured during her time in the Taliban prison, necessitating urgent medical attention.
As per information from a source within Afghanistan’s women protesters, Neda Parwani and her husband were granted release on bail from the Taliban prison on December 14th. Ms. Parwani, apprehended by the group on September 19th in Kabul, had been in captivity since then. The Taliban, with a track record of arresting, imprisoning, and subjecting women protesters to torture, currently holds several other women, including Zhulia Parsi, Manizha Sediqi, and Parisa Azada.
Reports detailing the conditions faced by these women in the Taliban prison are distressing. Many are said to be in a deteriorating physical and mental state. The Taliban group has yet to offer any justification for the arrests of women protesters spanning various provinces in the country.
The fact that these women have endured torture and suffered severe mental and psychological trauma is deeply troubling. Some have even resorted to suicide after being released from Taliban imprisonment. The international community must persist in advocating for the rights and safety of these women, who courageously stand for their freedom and equality.
