RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front has recently announced that Ahmad Massoud, the leader of this front, has traveled to Vienna, Austria, to partake in the third round of the “Anti-Taliban Movements and Personalities” conference. This event, scheduled for Sunday, December 3rd, is poised to unfold in Vienna and is orchestrated by the Austrian Institute of International Affairs. According to available information, this institution had previously hosted two similar conferences last year, in August and April, featuring the participation of anti-Taliban figures. Nevertheless, detailed information about the third session has not been disclosed by official sources from the Austrian Institute of International Affairs.
The Vienna process stands out as one of the significant international gatherings facilitated by the Austrian government, bringing together opposition parties, groups, and political as well as civil figures critical of the Taliban. Annually, they convene to deliberate and discuss pressing national issues confronting Afghanistan. As per the statement released by the National Resistance Front, topics for discussion in this conference encompass security matters, human rights, women’s issues, consensus among political groups in the country, consultations with regional and international countries, and the presentation of a roadmap for Afghanistan’s political future.
During his sojourn in Austria, Ahmad Massoud is anticipated to meet with certain members of the Austrian Parliament. Furthermore, participants in the Vienna conference will engage in discussions with representatives from the global community and international organizations concerning the situation in Afghanistan. It is noteworthy that Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, has previously taken part in global conferences addressing the situation in Afghanistan under Taliban control, articulating his views and expressing concerns on the matter.
