RASC News Agency: During a Moscow meeting, Mohammad Mohaqeq, a member of the National Resistance Council, addressed the discrimination faced by Hazaras and Shias in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group. He highlighted that in the previous government, these groups had a 25% presence, but in the current system, not a single minister from these communities is in the cabinet. This double-layered discrimination has led to Hazaras being attacked and killed in stadiums, schools, and mosques.
Mr. Mohaqeq further explained that the Taliban group has compelled Hazaras living in central and northern regions to move and has usurped their lands. He also pointed out that the group has committed “gender apartheid” by prohibiting women from working and depriving them of the right to education. This oppressive behavior has turned Afghanistan, under the control of the Taliban group, into a safe haven for terrorist breeding grounds, posing a significant threat to the security of the region and the world.
According to Mr. Mohaqeq, the Doha Agreement is a “disgraceful and terrifying” accord. He also mentioned that there has been an increase in targeted terrorist attacks against Hazaras and Shias in different provinces of the country. In the latest case, two Shia religious scholars were shot by unknown gunmen in Herat. It is important to note that other non-Pashtun ethnic groups in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group are also facing violent and oppressive behavior. The situation in Afghanistan is dire, and it is crucial for the international community to take action to protect the rights and lives of all Afghanistani citizens.
