RASC News Agency: The Taliban officials in Ghor province have confirmed that the World Food Program has provided aid to thousands of needy families in the region. The aid was distributed in Allahyar, Morghab, and Dawlatyar districts of the province, as per the announcement made by the Taliban Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department on November 21st. The aid included flour, oil, lentils, salt, and nutritious food for children and was distributed with the technical cooperation of the “World Vision” Institute.
The World Food Program has been providing aid to needy families in different provinces of Afghanistan in cooperation with other aid organizations. However, the need for international aid has increased significantly since the Taliban took control of the country. The unemployment and poverty rates among Afghanistani citizens have risen drastically, and the restrictions imposed by the Taliban on the work and activities of women have further exacerbated the issue of poverty among families.
Despite the efforts of aid organizations, these organizations have announced that they will reduce their assistance to needy families in different provinces of the country due to budget cuts and the behavior of the Taliban towards their employees. The situation in Afghanistan remains challenging, and it is crucial for aid organizations to continue their efforts to provide assistance to those in need within the country. The aid provided by the World Food Program and other organizations is essential for the survival of many households in the country as the cold winter approaches.
