RASC News Agency: Karen Decker, the Chargé d’affairs of the American embassy in Afghanistan, has recently stated that she has met with representatives of the World Food Programme (WFP) and other aid agencies assisting Afghanistan. Decker, who operates from Qatar, shared the news of her meeting with representatives of aid agencies in Afghanistan through a social media post on X. She mentioned that this meeting took place yesterday, on November 13th, in Doha.

By reposting the recent report by the World Food Programme on the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s regain of power in the country, Karen Decker has hailed the United States as the “largest contributor” to the Afghanistan people and emphasized the need for accountability for every dollar spent in Afghanistan. Furthermore, she added that the people of Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance to endure the upcoming winter and overcome the “foreseeable crises” in a better manner.

Meanwhile, the World Food Programme had previously announced that the aid agency needs a budget of $400 million to assist the people of Afghanistan, especially in remote and vulnerable areas, during the upcoming winter.
It should be noted that prior to this, aid agencies had already expressed concerns about the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan under Taliban rule due to the existing crises.

It is worth mentioning that reports indicate an increase in the Afghanistani citizens’ need for humanitarian assistance due to various reasons, such as the reduction in the activities of aid agencies and budget constraints. Afghanistan is currently under Taliban rule and is facing the imminent threat of another crisis with the influx of a massive wave of Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan.
