RASC News Agency: A source in Badakhshan province says that members of the Taliban attacked the house of former military commander Nazir Mohammad’s son with the intention of arresting him.

Nazir Mohammad was killed four years ago when he was the mayor of Faizabad, the center of Badakhshan province, in a Taliban mine explosion.

He was known as one of the jihadi commanders against the Taliban group in Badakhshan.

A source close to this former soldier says that last night (Saturday, September 2) the members of the Taliban group attacked his house in “Khwaja Marouf” area located in the old city of Faizabad.

According to the source, the Taliban group planned to arrest Ahmad Shahpour, the son of Nazir Mohammad; but he managed to escape after a short fight.

Until now, it is not clear why the Taliban group wanted to arrest Ahmad Shahpour.

The Taliban group had previously accused Nazir Mohammad’s sons of being associated with the “National Resistance Front of Afghanistan” and imposed restrictions on them.

The local officials of the Taliban group in Badakhshan province have not said anything about the attack on Nazir Mohammad’s house and the attempt to arrest his son.

After taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban group has been arresting former soldiers under various pretexts.

Meanwhile, in its recent report, the Office of the United Nations Assistant for Afghanistan (UNAMA) recorded 800 cases of human rights violations by the Taliban group against the military and officials of the former government of Afghanistan, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights this UNAMA report.  It considered the violation of human rights in Afghanistan as “shocking” and said that the Taliban group “betrayed” the trust of Afghanistani citizens and continued to violate human rights.
