RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Migrants and Returnees of the Taliban group has announced the return of 7,437 Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan and Iran.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, October 25th, the Ministry of Migrants and Returnees of the Taliban group stated that these migrants entered the country on October 24th, through the Torkham and Islam Qala border crossings.
According to the border authority, at the Torkham border crossing in Nangarhar province, 725 families consisting of 4,093 individuals voluntarily and forcibly returned to the country through the Torkham border crossing.
After registering with the Ministry of Migrants, these individuals were referred to the offices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Organization for Migration for assistance.
Meanwhile, as of October 24th, according to information provided, 3,344 Afghanistani individuals entered the country voluntarily and forcibly through the Islam Qala border crossing from Iran. The border guard commander in Islam Qala, Herat province, stated that among these individuals, including families and singles, 369 who were considered vulnerable and in need were referred to the International Organization for Migration office to receive assistance and received food and non-food items.
It should be noted that after the deadline set by the Pakistani government and the emphasis of Iranian authorities on the expulsion of illegal migrants, thousands of individuals enter the country forcibly and voluntarily from Iran and Pakistan on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that with the Taliban’s takeover of the country and the intensification of existing crises in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran witnessed a massive wave of Afghanistani migrants.
