RASC News Agency: In line with their ongoing commitment to alleviate the suffering caused by drought in different provinces nationwide, the Herat branch of the Red Crescent Society has recently made an exceptional gesture. Authorities have announced a substantial cash donation of 30 million kabuli rupees to provide support to the families affected by this calamity in the region.
On the 20th of October, the Red Crescent Society disclosed that the generous donation of 30 million kabuli rupees has been specifically allocated to aid one thousand vulnerable and impoverished families residing in the Adraskan district of Herat province. This district, in particular, has been among the hardest-hit regions, grappling with the devastating impact of the drought. In light of this, the humanitarian agency has been actively involved in offering assistance to more than 50 villages within the area.
It is paramount to emphasize the dire agricultural consequences caused by this year’s drought in Herat. The meager crop yields have led to a deteriorating economic situation, pushing a significant number of individuals below the poverty line. This unfortunate reality has exacerbated the already challenging circumstances faced by the affected families.
Moreover, it is essential to underscore the fact that drought inflicts severe hardships on communities throughout various provinces of the country on an annual basis. This recurring natural disaster perpetuates a cycle of distress and deprivation, causing immense suffering to the people.
The substantial donation of 30 million kabuli rupees by the Herat branch of the Red Crescent Society will go a long way in providing much-needed relief to the families affected by the drought.
