RASC News Agency: Former Jihadi leader Abdul Rab Rasoul Sayyaf says that the education of girls and women is mandatory, obligatory and necessary, and those who are against the education of girls and women have no information about Sharia and knowledge.

Mr. Sayyaf made these words during a virtual conference on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the assassination of Burhanuddin Rabbani.

This former jihadi leader added: “Those who say that knowledge is not compulsory for girls, are ignorant of Sharia law and have no knowledge.”

This ceremony held on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of Burhanuddin Rabbani, the former head of the Supreme Peace Council, Mr. Sayyaf emphasized that those who are in charge of managing communities should provide educational opportunities for girls.

It should be mentioned that this is the first official reaction of Abdul Rasool Sayyaf about the closure of girls’ schools in Afghanistan.

This is despite the fact that it has been more than two years since girls above the sixth grade were banned from going to school.

It is worth mentioning that, before this, other personalities of the country, including former president Hamid Karzai, repeatedly asked the Taliban group to open the gates of schools and universities to girls in response to the blocking of schools and universities.

As well as, since their domination of the country, the Taliban group has imposed increasing restrictions on the lives of Afghanistani women and girls, deprived them of their most basic rights, and used violent and repressive behaviors against them.

Based on the experts of this group, during the two years of domination over the country, the 20-year achievements of Afghanistani women and girls faced the danger of destruction and they always adopted a repressive and violent attitude towards women and girls.
