RASC News Agency: Continuing the demands to secure the rights of Afghanistani women and girls, Amnesty International has once again called for the Taliban group to be held accountable in connection with the ban on women and girls’ education.
This organization wrote on the X channel that the future and dreams of Afghanistani girls are in danger and after two years of banning the education of girls above the sixth grade, there has been no change in the situation.
Meanwhile, 725 days have passed since the gates of schools were closed to girls above the sixth grade, and since the end of December 2022, the gates of universities have also been closed to them.
Rasheda Faiq, a student at one of the country’s universities, says: “We girls are facing extreme gender discrimination… They, Taliban group prohibited women from work, education, social and political activities, and even the most personal issues of beauty and makeup for women.
Nazanin, a student of the school, says: “I hope that the international community will cooperate so that the fate of girls is also determined, the opening of schools is the dream of all girls. Because they suffered from mental illnesses due to bad luck. I hope we can return to our lessons as soon as possible.”
This is while Nada Mohammad Nadeem, the Minister of Higher Education of the Taliban group, said in his recent trip to the northern provinces of Afghanistan that the Taliban group is not obliged to comply with the wishes of others in connection with the rights of women and girls.
He said that in four situations, others from this group can ask to give women the right to education and the right to go to recreational areas: “If we ask them to become our advisors, they can advise us to open universities, schools, and parks to women. Second, if they are rulers or they supply us, because whoever gives bread also gives commands; and the fourth is that they will rule over us by force, so that you fulfill this order, otherwise you will be killed.”
He says that those who want to secure the right to education and other women’s rights do not have any of these four conditions on the Taliban group.
This is while the United Nations hosted a meeting “Fighting Gender Apartheid: The Status of Women and Girls in Afghanistan” on Friday night.
