Doctors in Nimroz Brutally Assaulted as Taliban Fails to Act

RASC News Agency: In yet another alarming sign of Afghanistan’s deteriorating governance under the Taliban, medical professionals at Nimroz Provincial Hospital were violently attacked by a mob of angry relatives of injured patients, raising concerns over the safety of healthcare workers in the country. According to sources, the brutal assault took place on Wednesday, February 12, when several doctors were viciously beaten en masse within the hospital premises. The incident reportedly began when victims of a traffic accident were brought in for emergency treatment. However, in a shocking escalation, their relatives turned against the medical staff, assaulting them as they attempted to provide care.

Sources indicate that several doctors suffered severe injuries, with some reported to be in critical condition. Despite the graveness of the attack, Taliban authorities in Nimroz have remained indifferent, failing to intervene or take action against the perpetrators. In response to the violence, outraged doctors have threatened to stage a strike, warning that if the situation is not addressed, they will refuse to continue their duties, further destabilizing the already fragile healthcare system.

So far, the Taliban regime has issued no statement, choosing to remain silent in the face of yet another act of lawlessness under its rule.
