RASC News Agency: The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the UN Women’s Department and international migration organizations have reported an increase in mental health problems among Afghanistani women in a new report.

In this report, it is stated that interviews and consultations with 592 women in 22 provinces of the country in the first months of 2023 indicate that 69% of the women in this research suffer from depression, feelings of inferiority and isolation.

The women who took part in this interview compared their life to prison and said that they are denied the right to make decisions in many families.

In this research, they emphasized more on women’s rights and gender equality than economic growth and humanitarian aid.

According to the findings of this report, 80% of women have lost their earning ability.

The majority of women interviewed in this research said that the international community should not recognize the Taliban group.

The interviews in this report were conducted online and in person from April to June 2023.

This is despite the fact that the United Nations Women’s Department had previously said that the Taliban group had issued more than 50 restrictive decrees against women’s rights since regaining control of the country.

In this report, 62 percent of women have spoken about the implementation of Taliban group’s orders with increasing intensity.

These women have said that the right to access education is one of the priorities in their lives.

Based on the findings of these three institutions, family violence, forced marriage and underage marriage have increased drastically.

According to these women, the Taliban group has violated women’s fundamental rights and removed them from all areas of society.

They have asked the international community not to recognize the Taliban group in any way and to increase the sanctions against this group.
